Ever since moving to the US, one of the things I really crave is good street food. This place serves everything from Bhelpuri to Golgappas. And that's what we were there for. They serve 7 types of water to have your gol grappas with. And it's legit someone making the whole bite for you, like in India. So we got to try each flavour of water, which were pretty good. Though it's not a very big restaurant, the whole crowd there was for their gol gappas only. And rightly so. We thoroughly enjoyed having Indian street food, authentic style.

This place serves Indian street foods like gol gappas, aloo tikki and pav bhaji just like they do in India. They serve it in a stall from live counters and that add quite a lot to the food experience. We just had the gol gappa, but they had many flavors in the water they served I loved the mint and mango the most. They also serve it with either boiled channas or boiled potatoes so you can get which you likee. The last one they serve is the plane one and has 8 gol gappas per order which is pretty good for the price . The ambience is no frills Indian restaurant, not an fine or even close to that dining experience. The service is quick and prompt but you can not go wromg with the food here i feel.

You don't miss home when you are in New Jersey. It's been a long time, I have been missing home badly for dal dokli, my mom cooks that really well. Just that hunger for dal dokli made me search over the internet and guess what, I came across this restaurant "Vatan" at Newark avenue. Without second thoughts immediately ordered dal dokli. It was delicious, proper taste as it should have. If you're in New Jersey and you want to try Dal dokli then this is the place for you guys. A little bit disappointed with Puram Poli, it should be sweet and well cooked. It tastes like you are having all purpose flour with a less filling of Puram!

This place has been upgraded recently and this review is purely for food. And the variety in food. Very few places around here offer gujrati dishes, yes dal dhokli !!! I really love their sev tamatar. Their thalis are great too if you are in for home made sabjis, not the typical creamy curries which I like. This is our only goto thali place . Thali appetizers are bonus. Their dabelis and Pani puri are worth a try and paneer lollipop is the star dish for me here . Given the variety some dishes there could be a miss. but coming here for months or ordering take out I have never been heavily disappointed.

I ordered Vatan Thali via grubhub and it was delivered on time. I was surprised at the food quantity at a price! The food was for atleast 2-3 people and mind you it was tasty!! I got 3 vegetables ( 1. Curry Potatoes 2. Curry eggplant- delicious 3. Green pea with cabbage - taste as though home made, yum!) 2 tasty dal, rice, khichadi, sweet , papad, pickle , green chili and there 2 were 2 other items I never ever had in my life. All the food was delicious! I loved it.. even rice I would say it was much much better then any restaurant I have ever had! Everything was fresh! Rating for this Thali 5/5 I also ordered dabeli since it's my one of the favorite street food! It was delicious! I loved it! I will surely order again! In dabeli pomegranates were less or missing.. so I hope they put more fresh pomegranates - Rating 4/5 I loved everything that was delivered and am looking forward to order few more dishes!
